During my visit to the CAMP Cannabis cultivation facility in St. Louis, Missouri, I had the pleasure of receiving a tour from Reed Porter, the Director of Cultivation. I was immediately struck by the cleanliness and organization. The air was fresh! (My first impression of most facilities is derived from what my nose might pick up.) Each room is meticulously maintained, purposefully built, with a well-arranged workflow. These attributes reflect a commitment to safety and quality. The facility utilizes advanced cultivation techniques, and they have mastered the art of teaching their crews to produce high-quality products. There is no need for micromanaging. Staff members move efficiently throughout the facility, ensuring that every task is conducted with precision.
As I toured the different stages of production, I was impressed by the attention to detail at each step. From propagation to flowering, each area is designed for maximum efficiency, with clear labeling and clean pathways. They have taken common practices and refined them for each task and for every space, incorporating technologies that minimize waste and energy consumption. Plants are usually just plants – they don’t really grab my attention, but CAMP had an entire room in the last week of flowering that was just ridiculous.
Overall, the visit left me with a deep appreciation for the hard work and dedication involved in producing high-quality cannabis, all while maintaining a clean and organized environment that prioritizes both the plants and the people working with them. Below is a video Q&A of my experience – have a look at this great facility for yourself!

I had a great time touring the CAMP facility! I especially enjoyed the conversation with Reed. Collaboration like this enriches our knowledge of commercial cannabis cultivation as a community. Many thanks to Reed and the rest of the team at CAMP. I am eager to visit again.
